Joint Center Puts
Horsewoman Back in Saddle

PBNALHSYIU

Nancy Bolduc, avid horsewoman and
co-owner of Washstone Ranch, can ride
horses again thanks to joint replacement
surgery at Cooley Dickinson Hospital.
Here, Bolduc sits atop Diamond, a
15-year-old thoroughbred.

“Cooley Dickinson gave me my life back.”

So said Nancy Bolduc, an experienced horsewoman who co-owns and operates Washstone Ranch in Westfield. Bolduc’s typical day includes riding horses, giving riding lessons, and doing chores that require bending and heavy lifting.

But in recent years, Bolduc’s body stopped working the way she needed it to. “My walk was just horrible. It got to the point where I couldn’t stand for more than 10 to 15 minutes at a time,” recalled Bolduc, age 59.

Thanks to the Joint Replacement Center, Bolduc is back in the saddle, doing the work she loves, without pain.

In July 2010 she had her left hip replaced. A year later, when she needed to have her right knee replaced, Bolduc again chose the Joint Replacement Center. “Cooley Dickinson was my only choice because I had such a positive experience with my first surgery.” Once again, Bolduc’s surgery proceeded without a hitch. In just three weeks, she was up and about.

Bolduc is one of hundreds of patients to speak highly of the Joint Replacement Center. No wonder. In 2011, HealthGrades®, the nation’s leading independent source of hospital quality ratings, named CDH #1 in Massachusetts for joint replacement outcomes.

The Annual Fund is an important way to support the kind of outstanding care Bolduc experienced. Won’t you please consider making a gift? You’ll be doing something good for yourself and for our community.
